When I heard the Old School Room (OSR) had another exhibition coming up I decided to go and take a look around one Saturday morning when I was out walking my new dog, Luna.

I had really enjoyed visiting the previous ones, especially when Simon Dicker showed me around and explained everything to me.  It made me really interested in modern art.

This new event was called ‘Everything & More’.  When I went in, the first thing that caught my eye was the large piece in the middle of the hall called ‘And the sky fell in’ which was by Simon himself.  I especially liked the small piles of flour on the floor with the gold beetles in it.

There was also a great model by Jethro Brice which was an artists impression of a coastal settlement.  Lots of tiny houses made out of scrapped pieces of cardboard on a watery base.  It looked incredibly detailed and I looked at it for a long period of time.

Another piece by Jethro Brice which I thought was really well put together was called an ‘Assembly of peripheral bodies’.  It was a wheel with lots of tiny, white plastic men, a bit like airfix people, which was connected to a lever.  When you pushed it, it spun around.

One thing that really made me giggle was a piece by Sue Palmer called ‘Difficult Pony II’.  It was a pair of jeans, with a pair of pants sticking out of the top (reminded me of my brother!) and a horses tail sticking out the back.

What I thought was also really good, was all the pieces outside around the village.  There were buckets of water with all sorts of things in like flowers and boats.

It was another really good exhibition, with lots that children would enjoy as well as adults.  I would recommend anyone from any age to go to the next one and see what you think.  It has made me realise that there is more than one type of art you can enjoy.
